Microsoft 365 Copilot Enablement
GravIT gets Copilot working safely inside the Microsoft 365 your team already uses: Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. We prepare your data governance first (permissions, sharing hygiene), handle licensing, deploy it, and train your staff. Enabled properly, by your local Geelong IT team.
Why Copilot needs preparation first
Copilot answers using everything a user can technically access across your tenancy: every SharePoint site, every shared folder, every old file nobody remembers sharing. In most businesses, permissions have drifted for years. Enable Copilot on top of that and the payroll spreadsheet is one well-phrased question away. Preparation isn't red tape; it's the difference between a productivity tool and an incident.
If you are not on Microsoft 365 yet, or unsure your tenancy is healthy, start with our Microsoft 365 service. Copilot is only as good as the foundation under it.

How GravIT rolls Copilot out
- 1Data-governance prep. Audit and fix permissions and sharing hygiene across SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams before anything is switched on.
- 2Licensing. Copilot licences for the roles where it pays for itself, on the right underlying 365 plans.
- 3Deployment. Staged enablement, starting with a pilot group whose wins bring everyone else along.
- 4Training. Practical sessions on your real work, so the licences get used instead of gathering dust.
Choosing between Copilot and Claude
Microsoft 365 Copilot

- Works on your 365 tenancy
Claude
The deep-work assistant, strongest where the thinking is hardest.
- Long documents and contracts

It isn't a religion. Plenty of businesses sensibly run both, and if your work leans to long documents and analysis, our Claude consulting is the other half of this conversation.
Frequently asked questions
Is Copilot safe for my business data?
Microsoft doesn't train its models on your business data, and Copilot only surfaces what each user already has permission to see. That second part is the catch: if permissions are loose, Copilot exposes it. That's why we do data-governance preparation before enabling it. Read more: Is Copilot safe for my business data?
What do we need before Copilot?
A Microsoft 365 business plan, Copilot licences for the users who'll benefit, and, most importantly, permissions and sharing hygiene sorted so the AI can't surface things people shouldn't see.
What does Copilot actually do day to day?
Drafts and rewrites in Word and Outlook, summarises long email threads, builds first-pass presentations, helps analyse data in Excel, and takes meeting notes with action items in Teams. The pattern: it does the first 80%, your person does the judgement.
Does every staff member need a licence?
Usually not. We identify the roles where Copilot pays for itself (heavy document, email and meeting loads first) and license those, then expand if the value shows up.
What does the training cover?
Real tasks from your business: how to prompt usefully, when to trust output, and how to verify it. Short, practical, no jargon.
