Frequently asked questions
Which Microsoft 365 plan does my business need?
If you hold client data, money or compliance obligations, start at Business Premium. It's the only one of the three with advanced security and device management. Business Standard drops those but keeps the full desktop Office apps, and Business Basic covers email plus the web and mobile apps, which suits field and casual staff. Most teams end up on a mix, and we licence exactly what each person needs.
Can you migrate us without losing email?
Yes. Migration is our bread and butter: mail, calendars, contacts and files move across with mailboxes synced before cutover, so the switch happens without a day of downtime.
How much OneDrive storage do staff get?
Every user gets 1TB of OneDrive storage on the standard business plans, which is more than enough for a working life of documents, synced across their devices.
What's the difference between OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams?
OneDrive is each person's own files. SharePoint is shared company files and intranet. Teams is where chat, meetings and calls happen, sitting on top of both. Set up properly, they stop the "which version is current?" email chains.
Do you support us after the migration?
Yes: selection, licensing, setup, migration and ongoing support. When someone can't open Outlook on a Tuesday morning, they ring our Geelong team and get a tech, not a ticket.
We're still on "Office 365" plans from years ago. Should we change?
Probably worth a review. Microsoft retired the old Office 365 Business Essentials/E-plan naming for small business; the current Business Basic / Standard / Premium lineup is usually cheaper or better-featured for what you actually use. We'll map your old licences to the right modern ones.
We have record-keeping obligations. Can Microsoft 365 handle them?
Yes, with setup. Retention policies keep email and files for as long as your obligations require, so deleted stops meaning gone, and archiving handles departed staff and long-lived mailboxes without paying full licences forever. We set the policies to match your industry and leave the evidence where an auditor can find it. Retention is not a backup, though: for that, see backup and disaster recovery.
