Nobody schedules the bit where the meeting doesn’t start
Everyone knows this meeting. Three people crouched over a laptop looking for the right cable. Someone dialling in who can hear the room but the room can’t hear them. A screen that shows the presentation at the wrong aspect ratio while somebody says “can everyone see this?” to a camera pointed at the ceiling. Ten minutes gone, every time, in a room booked for thirty.
A meeting room and a collaboration room aren’t the same thing
Most people ring up asking for “a screen for the boardroom”. It is worth separating what you actually need first, because the two answers cost different money and solve different problems, and plenty of rooms want one rather than both.
A certified Teams or Zoom room
Purpose-built conference kit: camera, microphones, speakers and a room controller that are certified to work with Microsoft Teams or Zoom rather than merely plugged into it. You walk in, tap Join, and the meeting starts.

A large interactive display
A big touchscreen you can write on with your hand or a pen, save the result, and carry on with. BenQ Boards run their own built-in system, so they work with nothing else plugged in, and take a slide-in Windows PC module when you want the room to behave like a computer.

Sizes run to 75″ and beyond. We have one in our own office, which is the only way to know how a screen behaves after the demo.
Plenty of rooms end up with both: a certified kit for the video call and a touch display for the working session. Plenty of rooms need neither and just want a decent screen and a tidy cable. We will tell you which one you are.
One thing worth being precise about
“Works with Teams” and “certified for Teams” are not the same claim, and the difference matters on the day something goes wrong.
Certified kit has been tested and approved by Microsoft for that use, which means the configuration is supportable and behaves predictably. A screen that merely runs a Teams app can work perfectly well and still leave you in the gap between two vendors when it does not. If certification is what you need, that points to a Logitech kit, or to a BenQ Board fitted with the certified Teams Rooms module.
Interactive displays have now reached the same place. What does a Microsoft Teams Rooms setup actually include?
A certified camera, microphones and speakers matched to the size of the room, plus a touch controller on the table and a screen. The room becomes a bookable resource in Outlook, and joining a scheduled meeting is one tap, without a laptop, cables or a hunt for the right dongle.
What size screen do we need?
It depends on the room depth more than the room width, because the person furthest from the screen has to be able to read it. Logitech's room configurator is a good sanity check before anyone quotes you. Send us the result or the room dimensions and we will tell you whether we agree.
What is an interactive display and do we need one?
A large touchscreen you can write on directly, save the result and share it. It suits rooms where people work things out together: planning, design, training, client sessions. If your meetings are mostly video calls with people who are not there, a certified room kit will serve you better for less.
Can the display run Windows?
Yes. The BenQ Boards we fit run their own built-in system out of the box, and take a slide-in Windows PC module when you want the room to behave like a computer, which is useful if your team needs desktop applications on the screen rather than only a browser and a whiteboard.
Is the interactive display certified for Teams?
The screen on its own runs Teams, which is a different claim from being certified for it, and we would rather be precise. Fitted with BenQ's Microsoft Teams Rooms certified Windows module, a BenQ Board is a certified Teams room, and we have tested that module ourselves rather than taking the brochure's word for it. Logitech kits remain the certified answer for rooms that do not need a touch display.
Can it go on a stand instead of the wall?
Yes. An electric lifting stand is available, which is height-adjustable at the press of a button and rolls between rooms. It is the usual answer for a leased office where you would rather not put a large bracket through the plasterboard, and for businesses that want one screen serving two rooms.
Do you install it, or just supply it?
We do the lot: assess the room, supply the gear, mount it, run and tidy the cabling, set the room up in Microsoft 365 so it is bookable, and show your people how to use it. Then we support it like any other device on your contract.
